Larapinta Trail - Chapman
Just out of Alice Springs, the Larapinta Trail follows the West MacDonnell Ranges winding its way through rugged gorges, crossing spinifex-covered plains and traversing high rock ridges. From vantage points along its 230km length, there are extensive views highlighting the vast open spaces of Central Australia. Diverse vegetation, tranquil waterholes and the rich earthy colours of escarpments are just a few of the delights that await.
The trail is marked along its length and has shelter huts, water tanks and toilets at most of the major campsites. Locked food storage facilities provide further support for walkers.
