This map highlights the walking tracks and features tourist information along with general topographic detail. The spectacular red granite peaks of Freycinet Peninsula & sheltered sandy beaches beneath them were once homeland to Tasmanian Aborigines of the Oyster Bay tribe. With the arrival of European explorers & settlers the peninsula became a backdrop to activities such as mining & farming.
The notes on the reverse side introduce visitors to the vegetation, land forms, animals, history of the area, bushwalking tips and safety essentials.
